Procedures

After the approval of this financing program, Carole Delga, the president of the Occitanie region, welcomed this crucial step “to make concrete progress towards the creation of the project company by April, with a view to starting work in 2024, as the Prime Minister has just committed to. The commissioning of this section is scheduled for 2030: the fourth largest city in France will then be three hours from Paris, compared to four currently. The Bordeaux-Toulouse journey (240 km) being reduced from two to one hour with the extension of the LGV.

In terms of procedures, the creation of the project company is planned before April 23, the date set by the mobility orientation law (LOM). Previously, the financing plan will have been transmitted this week to the Council of State, before an examination in the Council of Ministers next month. In the meantime, elected environmentalists and around twenty environmental associations are standing up against the modernization of the Bordeaux-Toulouse axis and its financing plan.
