Rail replacement service – Arlberg railway line closed for five days from Friday

Due to maintenance work on the Arlberg route, there will be no train connection between Tyrol and Vorarlberg from next Friday morning until Wednesday night. ÖBB relies on rail replacement services and asks travelers to get information early enough.

The Arlberg railway line will be closed from April 14 (8:30 a.m.) to April 19 (3:00 a.m.) due to maintenance work. Instead of the long-distance trains, the ÖBB set up a rail replacement service with buses between the Tyrolean Ötztal, the cities of Bludenz and Feldkirch in Vorarlberg and the Swiss Sargans and back, the company informed on Monday. Buses in local traffic, night trains are diverted. Buses are also available in local traffic. The travelers were asked to pay attention to the earlier departure times of the trains from Bregenz in the direction of Feldkirch, the rail replacement buses from Sargans or Feldkirch and Bludenz to Ötztal and occasionally between Innsbruck and Ötztal. According to Bahn, the affected night trains will be diverted across Germany . For Nightjet customers with a destination between Kufstein and Feldkirch, a replacement train is available for the intermediate service between Salzburg and Ötztal, it said. Travelers between Ötztal and Bludenz were asked to switch to rail replacement services or to use local trains between Bludenz and Feldkirch. Maintenance work along the rails According to ÖBB, the reason for suspending train services is maintenance work along the rail network. These are particularly important on mountain routes such as the Arlberg route.
