Rainbow Six Y6S4.2 Update Patch Note: Agent Balancing

Update Y6S4.2 has just been released to Rainbow Six Siege ahead of the Six Invitational 2022, and while its content is thin, this one brings its fair share of changes to three Agents.

As Rainbow Six Siege players prepare for the Six Invitational 2022 and what Year 7 has in store for them, Ubisoft recently released a small update.

This new update makes slight adjustments for three Agents, Aruni, Ela, and Zofia.

When will Rainbow Six Siege patch Y6S4.2 be released?

Rainbow Six Siege patch Y6S4.2 has been live on TTS since January 12, 2022 and will remain in testing for a few more days. We will let you know the exact date of the official patch as soon as Ubisoft has confirmed it.

What’s in Rainbow Six Siege patch Y6S4.2?

An Aruni buff

Despite his strong ability to block attackers’ rotations, Aruni found himself a bit weaker. With a negative win rate and a presence of less than 20% in games, Aruni is one of the weakest operators in the game.

An upgrade to its MK 14 EBR, giving it the Cannon Brake attachment should give defenders a bit more variety in their class selection. While not a big change, it might be enough to shift his stats in the right direction with better accuracy on his first shots.

Prior to Aruni’s arrival, we were concerned that a sniper rifle with recoil stabilization would be too powerful for a defender. After watching him on the live server and comparing the MK 14 to the P10 Roni (which has a better rate of fire), we decided to give him more options and add the barrel brake to his gear.”Revealed the developers in the patch note published on the official site.

Ubisoft

Zofia received a slight nerf in this update.

A nerf of Ela and Zofia

Polish sisters Ela and Zofia have always featured in the Rainbow Six Siege meta. However, after a series of nerves in 2021, their impacts in part have significantly decreased.

And this new update shouldn’t help them since Ela’s Grzmot Mines and Zofia’s KS79 Launcher will no longer slow enemies’ movement speed after hitting them.

Slowing down a player who gets hit by Ela’s Grzmot Mine or Zofia’s KS79 is often seen as a snowball effect, as they receive multiple disadvantages at the same time.”Explain the developers.

Ela also receives an additional nerf for her FO-12 Shotgun, reducing damage from 35 to 25 and also reducing the Extended Barrel Attachment modifier to make it less threatening at range.
