Salzburg’s Hermann Neubauer finished second at the Weiz rally together with co-driver Ursula Mayrhofer. His fiercest competitor celebrated the victory.
At the fifth and penultimate stop of the Austrian Rally Championship in Weiz, there was no decision regarding the overall standings. In the sweltering heat, Salzburg’s Hermann Neubauer finished second after 13 special stages, but had to give up his lead to his victorious rival Simon Wagner (OÖ). “I wasn’t at 100 percent. But you have to be like that to be able to beat Simon,” explained Neubauer after the race that he finished 27.2 seconds behind Wagner. So there will be a big showdown for the title at the last station in Krumbach on September 16th and 17th.
