Ramadan: When will Eid al-Fitr take place?

Eid al-Fitr is the celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. According to the French Council of Muslim Worship (CFCM), it must take place this Monday, May 2.

The date fell this Saturday during the Night of Doubt when representatives of the Muslim community gathered at the Great Mosque of Paris to announce the end of Ramadan celebration: Eid el Fitr. They then announced with precision the end of the month of Ramadan, after the observation of the lunar crescent.

This year, Ramadan begins on April 2.

The end of the fasting month of Ramadan is often a time for families to visit each other or buy treats and new clothes for the children.
