Ramsay presents lower results over one year – 08/23/2023 at 18:21

(AOF) – Ramsay presents its provisional results at the end of June 2023. The private hospitalization group announces that its Ebitda has decreased by 5.6% over one year to reach 621.4 million euros, “under the effect of the €89 million decline in grants, high salary inflation and supply costs, combined with constraints related to staff shortages”. Net income after tax group share amounted to 49.4 million euros, or 1.1% of sales, down more than half compared to the previous year (118 .4 million euros).

The group’s turnover, on the other hand, increased by 9.3% to reach 4.7 billion euros, “supported by growth in activity in all regions and by recent acquisitions in the Nordic countries”. Like-for-like revenue growth was 7.0%.

The net cash flow generated by the activity of 598.9 million euros (compared to 262.5 million euros last year) reflects the working capital management effort and the collection during the period of Covid subsidies already recognized the previous year.

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report by the World Economic Forum, the demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled worldwide, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it drops to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The leader of Veolia nevertheless estimates that the rate of 10% targeted by 2030, within the framework of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. First and foremost is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this field, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid on the former Suez group.
