Ramsay Santé posts a decline in net profit in the first half of 2023 – 10/18/2023 at 6:14 p.m.

(AOF) – Ramsay Santé announces that its net profit after tax, group share at the end of June 2023 stood at 49.4 million euros, or 1.1% of turnover, a decline of more than half compared to the previous year, “due to the contraction in operating profit and the increase in the cost of debt”. The private hospitalization group specifies that its turnover increased by 9.3% to reach 4.7 billion euros, supported by “growth in activity in all regions” and by “recent acquisitions in the Nordic countries.

The net cash flow generated by the activity of 598.9 million euros compared to 262.5 million euros last year “reflects the effort of managing working capital and collection during the period of Covid subsidies already recognized the previous year”, we learn.

“The growth in turnover of 9.3% was mainly organic, the operating margin – EBITDA – fell to 13.2% compared to 15.3% last year, in a context of high inflation , reduction in subsidies and despite cost control measures”, underlines Pascal Roché, general director of Ramsay Santé.

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report from the World Economic Forum, demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled globally, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it falls to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The Veolia manager, however, believes that the rate of 10% targeted for 2030, as part of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. At the forefront is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this area, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid for the former Suez group.
