Ranking: These German entrepreneurs have the most money

Who is the richest person in Germany? According to the latest figures, there is a crystal clear answer.

Even the corona crisis cannot financially affect the super-rich from Germany, on the contrary. In some cases, they were even able to grow strongly, as can be seen from a list in the "Welt am Sonntag. Solitary at the top, Lidl and Kaufland founder Dieter Schwarz. The fortune of the 80-year-old discounter Krösus amounts to" WamS " according to 41.80 billion euros – despite Corona even slightly more than in the previous year (41.50 billion euros).

The Reimann family followed the estimates of the "WamS" by a clear margin. Their perfume and cosmetics group Coty and Jacobs Douwe Egberts (coffee and tea products) increased their assets to 21.45 billion euros in 2020. That would even be 1.45 billion euros more than in 2019. The Wolfgang Porsche family (VW, Porsche) follows in third place with 20 billion euros.

The richest woman in Germany is entrepreneur Susanne Klatten (58, BMW, Altana) with 15.10 billion euros. The top 5 is completed by Dietmar Hopp (80). Of all the above, it was able to record the largest increase from 10 to 14.5 billion euros. This is probably due to the fact that, in addition to co-founder of the IT company SAP, he is also the majority owner of the biopharmaceutical company CureVac, which is currently working on a vaccine against Covid-19.

The basis of the survey is, among other things, research with asset managers, in archives and, in some cases, with the representatives of the ranking itself. All information is based on estimates, for example with regard to investments, share capital, real estate and company sales.
