Danny Masterson is currently on trial for three alleged rapes. Now he pleaded not guilty.

US actor Danny Masterson (45, “The Wild Seventies”) is currently on trial in Los Angeles on rape allegations after a judge ordered a trial in May. As reported by the Los Angeles Daily News, the series actor pleaded not guilty on Monday (June 7th).

The US star allegedly raped three women in his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003. He himself has already denied this several times. One of his lawyers suggested during the preliminary hearing that the three women had conspired against their client. Two of them allegedly had consensual sex with Masterson, the alleged third rape never took place. The prosecutor rejected the acceptance of the joint conspiracy.

Masterson is currently at large after posting $ 3.3 million on bail. During his appearance before the judge, he also gave the authorities his passport. A first hearing as part of his trial is currently scheduled for August 9th. There it is expected that the actor’s lawyers will challenge the continuation of the proceedings.

The rape allegations against Masterson first became public in 2017. At that time, the police confirmed investigations against him, as a result of which the streaming service Netflix stopped working with the actor on the hit series “The Ranch”. He was then arrested and charged in the summer of 2020. If convicted, Masterson faces a prison sentence of up to 45 years.
