Rape planned – Wrong taxi driver beat up students in the garage

It was an exuberant night of partying. People moved from location to location. A Bolt ride then became fatal for two young women. The car that the two got into was not the one ordered, but that of the accused. In a parking garage, the man hit the students. The court decides: He wanted to rape her!

It is said to have been pure coincidence that two young women found themselves in the defendant’s car. When the students confused the 35-year-old’s car with the Bolt taxi they had ordered, the man, intoxicated with drugs, simply wanted to drive off in panic. But even more: the accused was even afraid of the two early 20-year-olds. “I had the impression that they wanted to hurt me. That they want to hit me,” he explains, insisting that he was “completely stoned”. Students brutally beaten in the garage But this fate befell the two young women in the parking garage in the Romanian’s house: “I knew that it couldn’t be good that we drove into an underground car park,” recalls the 24-year-old on the witness stand in the Vienna Regional Court return. The defendant threw her on the ground as she tried to escape and hit her in the face with his fists – until her nose broke. He only let it go to beat her friend. She was finally able to save herself in the stairwell and got help. The 23-year-old second victim is quite sure: “He wanted to rape us.” The prosecution is based on that. Defender Sascha Flatz only says: “There are two victims. It’s actually not at all that you rape two women in a parking garage. The 35-year-old intentionally pretended to be a taxi driver and took the two students to the underground car park of his block of flats. With the aim of beating her unconscious and abusing her there. The previously convicted man was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for attempted rape.
