And the least we can say is that BHL delivered edifying words. “It is the revenge of the cowards. It is the revenge of the vanquished who have been humiliated by a regular army and who have not had the means to defeat it with fairness. They take revenge on the women, on the children and on the men with their bound hands. This is the case in Boutcha and throughout this area”.
Before the wary heads of his audience, BHL continued: “I spent a few days with my photographer and we tried to document these crimes that pass beyond imagination. We have collected abominable testimonies. Including a woman, who told me horrible things, like her gang rape. Her friends tell how they were evicted from their apartment, when they were parked in a cellar and the Russian soldiers threw a grenade inside. Others said that the corpses of Ukrainian civilians were methodically defiled by Russian soldiers.”
Bernard-Henri Lévy: “I saw terrible, unimaginable things”
And as if that were not enough, Bernard-Henri Lévy gave other details of what he experienced in several Ukrainian cities, devastated by the bombs. “We collected all these stories, but also terrible imagess. There, they have not finished finding bodies, searching the rubble. We saw rescuers, a mum searching for her baby boy, who was found dead and mutilated.” Faced with this story, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine was left speechless. Like all the inhabitants of the planet in the face of these atrocities.
