Rappers Young Thug and Gunna arrested by the FBI

Artists Young Thug and Gunna in the sights of justice. The two rappers were arrested in the State of Georgia (United States) this Monday, May 9, because of their involvement in cases related to gangs.

The two stars, 28 and 30, have been implicated by American justice on 56 counts, according to WSB-TV journalist Michael Seiden. Among the latter, the two singers have been charged with armed robbery, racketeering or participation in criminal gang activity.

The 88-page indictment says Young Thug is believed to be one of the founders of a Bloods-affiliated gang that has been operating in Atlanta since 2012 under the name Young Slime Life (YSL). 26 of their members were also arrested and taken into custody in this case.

Young Thug under investigation for murder

Young Thug was also targeted by investigators for renting a vehicle used in the 2015 homicide of Donovan Thomas Jr, executed in his car during a shooting.

In addition, two of his associates are said to have sought his approval to kill rapper YFN Lucci, currently incarcerated for murder in Fulton County.

In 2019, the latter had escaped an assassination attempt in his car before avoiding a new one last January in prison since he survived multiple stab wounds delivered by another inmate.

Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, assured Monday that his client “has not committed any crime”. “We will fight until my last drop of blood to clear him,” explained the lawyer on the WSB-TV channel.

For his part, Gunna has been charged with conspiracy by US law enforcement for attempting to violate the RICO Act aimed at combating organized crime in the country.
