The 14e generation of processors Intel will therefore initially consist of three new Raptor Lakes.

Intel has the idea to market the first Meteor Lake processors before the end of 2023. Until then, nothing really new. At the end of October, it will also market a new range of Raptor Lake, and if rumors had already mentioned the thing, it has never been with such precision.

Latest processors in LGA1700

This new range of Raptor Lake processors should allow the LGA1700 socket to achieve a kind of last stand while the Meteor Lake generation will introduce the LGA1851.

For Intel, it is also undoubtedly a way to better segment the release of its new generation. Meteor Lake should therefore, at least initially, focus on energy-efficient processors, while the Raptor Lake refresh (this is the name of the future range) will be there for power freaks.

Only then, not before 2024 therefore, could a Meteor Lake range also concern the most powerful processors. The Arrow Lake generation would arrive for Christmas 2024.

Just a BIOS update?

The Raptor Lake refresh will also be an opportunity for Intel to use its old nomenclature based on Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 one last time. Meteor Lake will introduce Intel, Intel Core and Intel Core Ultra.

Without there being any question of a date set in stone, we have learned that the Raptor Lake refresh will be released in week 42 of the calendar or, for those who do not count weeks, between October 17 and 23 of this year. . For now, the range seems to be limited to three models, from the Core i5-14600K to the Core i9-14900K, via the Core i7-14700K.

This latest model should also introduce a new combination of high-performance cores and efficient cores in 8P and 12E. While the other two processors might be directly compatible with current motherboards, the 14700K combination will involve new BIOSes.
