Rated 4.2 out of 5: for Franck Dubosc, this is his best role! And it will amaze you

Currently showing in Joyeux Noël, Franck Dubosc told our microphone what he thinks is his best role. And you will be amazed!

On the occasion of the cinema release of the comedy Noël Joyeux, AlloCiné met its main actor, Franck Dubosc. We were able to ask the artist about this new project and his favorite Christmas films, as you can see in the video above.

We also spoke with the actor about a role that is particularly close to his heart, that of Marin in Finding Nemo. “He’s my most beautiful character”he tells us straight away.

The response from the person concerned is rather surprising, knowing that it is a dubbing performance and not live-action! Franck Dubosc has played numerous roles throughout his career; the fact of thinking that Marin is his most beautiful character is very touching.

Nemo’s father, Marin, is my most beautiful character.

Indeed, the dubbing of this cult Disney is often hailed as one of the best, equal to this timeless masterpiece released in 2003, already 20 years ago. “Nemo’s father, Marin, is my most beautiful character. It’s my first dramatic role and he’s really my most beautiful character”continues Franck Dubosc.

“Plus, I did it during a period that was quite hard for me. Besides, I refused a lot of things after that because I had done this one and I didn’t want to spoil it. With Disney, we’re hitting the very high level of dubbing. It’s quite enjoyable to do. Having done this one, it was very hard to find films with the same power.”confides the actor.

When I was shown the film and I knew I was going to dub Marin, I went WOW!

“When I was shown the film and I knew that I was going to dub Marin, I said WAOW! In fact, that’s the first word I say in the film, WAOW! This film “animation is fantastic, it’s one of Disney’s biggest successes”he concludes.

Released in November 2003, Finding Nemo grossed $941 million at the worldwide box office. In France, it attracted 9.3 million spectators. A sequel, Finding Dory, will arrive in June 2016, bringing together 3.4 million fans. Internationally, this second film will do a little better than the first, barely exceeding one billion greenbacks.
