(Boursier.com) — Status quo of the Central Bank of Norway. Norges Bank kept its key rate at 4.5%, the highest since December 2008, and warned investors that they may have to wait at least six months for any possible easing. Monetary policy has a tightening effect and growth in the Norwegian economy is weak,” said Governor Ida Wolden Bache. “Current forecasts indicate that the policy rate will continue to be at 4.5% until ‘fall before gradually falling”. Norway continues to struggle to control rising prices and inflation is expected to remain the highest this year among the 10 countries where currencies are most traded in the world.
