DECRYPTION – The public establishment has decided to suspend 149 buses from the Bolloré group’s Bluebus series.
The RATP had to take emergency measures. On Friday, the transport authority decided to suspend “as a precaution» the use of electric buses of the Bluebus 5SE series, produced by the Bolloré group. This announcement was made in the hours following the fire of one of these electric buses, in the 13th arrondissement, near the Bibliothèque-François-Mitterrand metro stop.

The fire did not cause any casualties, but was enough to push the RATP to take action, knowing that a similar incident had occurred on April 4 in the fifth arrondissement of Paris. “Regarding the second fire on a recent electric bus of the same Bluebus 5SE series of the Bolloré brand in less than a month, the RATP took the decision as a precautionary measure, in conjunction with Île-de-France Mobilités, to temporarily withdraw from operation the 149 electric buses of this series“, specifies the company in a press release.
