  • Razer showed a prototype at CES with Project Carol.
  • Project Carol is both a cushion and a speaker.
  • It will be offered as an add-on for gaming chairs.

The US manufacturer Razer is known for its “Blade” branded gaming laptops. At the CES in Las Vegas, the company is now also showing innovations from the audio sector – such as “Project Carol”. This is not yet a finished product, but the idea sounds promising.

Project Carol is a pillow-shaped speaker for gaming chairs. The cushion can be attached to any gaming chair with the help of straps and should then make the gaming experience even more immersive thanks to 7.1 surround sound. However, whether the product will make it out of the prototype phase remains to be seen.

Razer Leviathan V2 Pro also presented at CES

Razer’s second new audio product is not a prototype. The Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar is scheduled to be launched in January and will be sold for EUR 489.99. The soundbar developed for the PC tracks your head movements and, thanks to an AI, should always find the “sweet spot” for 3D audio. In addition, the RGB lighting can be synchronized with the sounds.

Razer is also bringing the new Blade 16 and 18 gaming laptops and the Razer Edge handheld to CES.
