Like every year before the Oscars, the Razzie Awards reward the worst films. Discover the unfortunate winners of the 2022 edition!
The Razzie Awards ceremony, which rewards the worst film production each year, has given its verdict for this 2022 edition, the 42nd in history!
As usual, the big winners of the Golden Raspberries were revealed the day before the Oscars ceremony. This will take place on March 27.
This year, the organizers were not kind to Diana, the musical, a feature film available on Netflix. The Broadway premiere of this show based on the life of Diana Spencer has been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It was therefore on Netflix that it took place on October 1, 2021. And the least we can say is that the show did not please the Razzies. Cited in 9 categories, Diana, the musical was slammed by critics. It was performed only 33 times on Broadway before being pulled from the bill.
The Golden Raspberries did not fail to drive home the point, rewarding the work with 5 trophies: worst film, worst actress, worst female supporting role, worst screenplay and worst director.
Space Jam 2 also paid the price for this 42nd ceremony, winning 3 Raspberries: worst actor for LeBron James, worst remake and worst screen couple.
New in size this year, Bruce Willis had an entire category just for him! It must be said that the actor has surpassed himself in 2021, delivering us many nanars in which he performs a minimalist performance. He was finally crowned worst actor for his performance in Cosmic Sin, available on Prime Video.
The ceremony also awarded the Redemption Award to Will Smith for his role in The Williams Method. The former Man in Black is also nominated for an Oscar for this feature film centered on the father of tennis players Venus and Serena Williams. The actor had already won 4 Razzies for the worst actor, notably for After Earth.
Last year, Absolute Proof was voted worst film. Diana, the musical therefore succeeded this documentary devoted to cyberattacks supposed to have potentially influenced the American presidential elections in 2020.
