Responding to emails can sometimes be a pain, especially if you receive a lot of them every day. Google intends to solve this by allowing Gmail users to react with emojis.
Good news for Gmail users, Google is preparing to add a popular feature to its messaging application: reactions with emojis. This function, already available on applications such as Messenger, WhatsApp or Google Messages, could truly disrupt the way Google’s mailbox works.
This feature was first spotted a few weeks ago by The Tape Drive, after code was discovered in the Gmail iOS app allowing users to react to emails with an emoji. However, we now know what these new reactions will look like.

Leaker AssembleDebug has already shared screenshots showing how emoji reactions work on TheSpAndroid. Once the option is activated, the silhouette of a smiley emoji will appear to the right of an email in Gmail. When you click on it, you are given a suggestion: “Reply quickly and add personality,” which allows you to select an emoji.
By choosing this option, recipients who use Gmail will see your emoji at the bottom of the email. Those participating in the conversation, but not using Gmail, will receive your feedback in the form of a standard email.
Note also that when you react to an emoji, five predefined options are available to you, but by tapping on the “+”, you open a menu which offers others. In total, almost 50 emojis are available, and a maximum of 20 emoji reactions can be added to an email.
According to AssembleDebug on TheSpAndroid, Emoji reactions are expected to be rolled out in batches for Gmail starting in October. They will be initially available on the Android and iOS applications. It is unclear whether or not the web version of Gmail will be compatible with this new feature. In the meantime, we know that Google is preparing to deploy other features in its application, including a very useful option expected by many users.
