In Schönenwerd, the Swiss volleyball players showed a strong reaction to the defeat at the start of the European Championship qualifier against Greece on Saturday. Lauren Bertolacci’s protégés clearly won in three sets 25:10, 25:9, 25:21 against Norway, which is four places higher in the world rankings.

The Norwegian team, which was rejuvenated for this campaign, showed their hard work from the start with the pace set by the Swiss. The 25:10 in the first set was the logical consequence.

Not an hour’s working time for the Swiss women

In the second round, the Swiss didn’t lose any of their killer instincts in attack. With 5 points in a row, they went from 14:7 to 19:7 and had the set in the sack a short time later.

In the third set, the Scandinavians reared up again. But a service error by the Norwegians on the second match ball brought the 25:21 and thus the decision after 57 minutes.

Künzler best scorer

Instead of Italy legionnaire Maja Storck, to whose attacks the Norwegians had adapted well, Laura Künzler and Samira Sulser scored at the beginning. In the end, Storck was the second best scorer in Switzerland with 16 points behind Captain Künzler (17).

On Saturday, the Swiss will continue with the game in Bosnia-Herzegovina (from 7:50 p.m. live in the live stream with commentary).
