Adata has just unveiled the SE920 SSD, which promises to revolutionize the user experience thanks to USB 4 technology.
The SE920 is a bit like a race car when it comes to SSDs. With it, we’re talking about read speeds that can reach 3,800 MB/s and write speeds that go up to 3,700 MB/s. To give you an idea, that’s almost four times faster than the Samsung T7, and twice as much as what the future Samsung T9 promises.
This SSD uses the latest USB 4.0 (USB4) technology with a USB-C cable, allowing it to reach these impressive speeds without being limited like a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 SSD would be. And if you have a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 port, like the latest MacBook Pro M3, you will be able to exploit the full potential of the SE920.
Adata has thought of gamers with the SE920, especially those who have a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series. You can quickly transfer your PS5 and Series X games there, even if to play them, you will have to put them back on the console’s internal SSD. But no worries for PS4 and Xbox One games, you can launch them directly from the SE920.
An active cooling system
Another strong point of this SSD is its cooling system. Adata has integrated a small fan and ventilation openings to prevent the SE920 from getting too hot, even when you use it a lot. This means you can use it hard without worrying about it overheating.
Even if we don’t yet know at what price the SE920 will be sold, we can already say that this SSD has it all. This is certainly the first external SSD of its kind.
