After a spectacular race to catch up on the home stretch, Regez prevailed in the final in the photo finish against Sweden’s David Mobärg and clinched his sixth World Cup victory. The Bernese Oberlander underpinned his top form with his two victories in central Sweden two weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Romain Détraz also showed a good performance, moving up two places from 7th place the day before and winning the small final. For Marc Bischofberger, the 2018 Olympic silver medalist, it was another disappointment with his elimination in the round of 16.
In the women’s race, the Swede Sandra Näslund also doubled in a race overshadowed by various falls and celebrated her ninth victory in the tenth race of the season. Sanna Lüdi and Saskja Lack were also among the victims of the fall.

The cancellation of Djokovic’s visa actually entails a three-year entry ban. However, this can be canceled at any time. Daniel Andrews, Prime Minister of the State of Victoria, emphasized that Novak Djokovic is very welcome in Australia – if he gets vaccinated beforehand.
Djokovic has not commented publicly on his mess in Australia since returning to Serbia. Last week, the French tennis association announced that only vaccinated tennis professionals could be admitted to the French Open in Roland-Garros at the end of May.
Ski Freestyle: Andri Ragettli only placed seventh
The Big Air competition at the X Games in Aspen was disappointing for Swiss freeskier Andri Ragettli. The man from Graubünden, who was only reasonably successful in one of six jumps, took 7th place among the eight participants.
For Ragettli, after winning the comeback last week in the French Pyrenees, it was only the second competition after tearing his cruciate ligament in his knee in Aspen in March.
The high-class competition was won by the American Alex Hall, who grew up in Switzerland.

Ski Freestyle: Silver for Gremaud at the X Games

(sda) Swiss freestyle skier Mathilde Gremaud takes another medal at the X-Games in Aspen. The 21-year-old finished second in slopestyle behind Tess Ledeux from France. It was her fourth podium at the annual event in the Rocky Mountains.
On Friday, Gremaud decided against further attempts in the Big Air, which she has already won twice in Aspen, after two unsuccessful jumps. The best Swiss in that competition was Giulia Tanno in fifth place.
