From 1794, this emblematic Aminese site housed an internationally renowned velvet factory, a French industrial flagship, praised by Jules Verne, employing at its peak 1,100 employees in 800 weaving trades. Faced with the crisis in the sector, the plant was bought in 2004 and closed definitively in March 2012.
After acquiring the site in 2019, REALITES has worked to preserve its history, certain buildings and facades that are listed as Historic Monuments.: a project of general interest useful to the territory, carried out hand in hand with the architecture firm Reichen and Robert & Associs, specialist in the rehabilitation of heritage sites. The objective is to build a district and open the place to the Aminois: 43000 m of housing, residence for the elderly, shops, craft activities and landscaped public spaces with high heritage value.
