Sleek design for the Realme GT Neo 2
In keeping with the racing car theme, the Realme GT was released in the color scheme Racing Yellow (yellow with a black bar). Visually, the Realme GT Neo 2 is in no way inferior: The smartphone is available in three color variants – Neo Black (black), Neo Blue (light blue with color reflections) and Neo Green (neon green with black bars). Above all, the bright green is an eye-catcher and fits perfectly into the usual concept of Realme. The Realme GT Neo 2 should be a practical top model with style and make the race in everyday life. The fingerprint sensor is built into the front of the display – alternatively you can unlock the device with a face scan. In contrast to the Master Edition, there is no jack socket on board, so listening to music is only possible via Bluetooth. The Realme GT Neo 2 is not waterproof.
Shines bright and responds faster
The screen on the front measures 6.62 inches (16.8 centimeters) and is equipped with an AMOLED display. In backlight, the smartphone managed up to 1,060 candelas – a strong value. The color fidelity and the contrast are also convincing, only the pixel density is a bit low at 399 ppi. Mobile gaming fans will be happy about the refresh rate of 120 Hertz and the rapid response time. With the fast screen scanning of 600 Hertz, playing shooters in particular is easier.
Cameras for the street
On the back of the smartphone, Realme has placed an impressive camera block. Inside are three lenses: the main camera has 64 megapixels (MP) and is supported by an ultra wide-angle lens (8 MP) and a macro camera (2 MP). Good pictures can be taken with this array in daylight. Only minimal distortions were noticed in the laboratory test. There is criticism of the low-light shots: the image is too bright and details are lost.
For chic self-portraits, Realme installs a 16 MP snap on the top left on the front. Positive: In contrast to previous models, the beauty filter is deactivated ex works. The options for the portrait mode remain unaffected and can still be used. The quality of the selfies in daylight was also convincing. But here, too, a slight distortion and distorted colors are noticeable in the recordings. It’s no better in low light: Loss of detail and an unnatural image cloud the camera’s good impression.
Powerful engine for Realme GT Neo 2
The Realme GT Master Edition is not at all masterful in terms of performance. Can the Realme GT Neo 2 catch up with the top group of androids again? Inside the smartphone is a Snapdragon 870 from Qualcomm, which is supported by 8 gigabytes (GB) of main memory (RAM) – on top of that there is 7 GB of virtual RAM, which can be switched on if necessary. The internal memory is either 128 GB or 256 GB. An expansion with a memory card is not possible. Out of the box, the Realme GT Neo 2 runs with Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.
Short pit stop possible
In addition to the eye-catching design, Realme offers another special feature: the large power plugs. The Realme GT Neo 2 is no exception. You can charge the battery with 5,000 mAh with the included charging cable and a mains plug with 65 watts. Such a bummer is also included with the Realme GT and ensured a loading time of 36 minutes in the laboratory test. The Realme GT Neo 2 doesn’t quite come close: In the laboratory, it took 56 minutes for the battery to be fully charged again. Positive: The smartphone ran for more than ten hours in the endurance test. However, it is a pity that wireless charging is not possible.

Realme GT Neo 2: conclusion of the test
With the Realme GT Neo 2, the model series is back on track. The device lacks some power for racetracks, but it is in the fast lane on everyday roads. Modes such as the star mode or the new street mode are nice additions, especially for photo fans. Apart from that, the recordings and the equipment were convincing. The Realme GT Neo 2 offers a bright display and a large battery that can be refilled with a short pit stop. More is not to be expected from a top model for everyday use.
