This Friday, September 30, the Chinese manufacturer officially launches its realme 9i 5ga smartphone with an amazing price-performance ratio and a design very inspired by the realme C35. But it will be marketed exclusively with the incumbent operator Orange.
A few weeks ago, we had serious doubts about the release of the realme 9i 5G in France. The Chinese manufacturer puts an end to the suspense and confirms today that one of the two announced configurations of its new model will very soon be marketed here, but exclusively with the operator Orange.
realme 9i 5G: CD-inspired design
For the latest addition to its numbered series, realme has opted for a very thin uniblock structure (only 8.1 millimeters thick), whose finish is inspired by the texture of a CD. Thus, in contact with light, the back of the device reflects concentric rays which leave from the photographic module.
This consists of three sensors, as we could see on the realme C35 from which it is very largely inspired. The realme 9i 5G therefore offers a 50 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8) accompanied by a 2 megapixel macro module and a 0.3 megapixel “Portrait” lens. The role of the latter is to improve the portraits taken by the wide-angle, in particular by capturing more light, improving the contrast and bringing texture to the whole.
At the front, you have to deal with a 6.6-inch screen cut by a punch in the shape of a drop of water in which the 8-megapixel selfie sensor (f / 2.0) is hidden. The FHD+ definition LCD panel benefits from a 90 Hz refresh rate which ensures great fluidity in daily navigation between Android applications.
Solid technical sheet, led by a Dimensity 810
The realme 9i 5G runs on Android 12 and the manufacturer’s realme UI 3.0 overlay. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G SoC whose frequency can reach up to 2.4 GHz, coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The latter can be extended with virtual RAM, obtained from storage memory, up to 5 GB.
Moreover, the storage space is limited to 64 GB, which is quite low. However, here’s some good news: the smartphone has a microSD slot that can expand storage up to 1 TB. It’s located in the drawer alongside the slots for nano-SIM cards.
Finally, the smartphone packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery that would allow the device to stay on standby for 35 days without needing to be recharged. If it seems very enduring, it is nevertheless accompanied by a modest 18 W charger. Charging will therefore take several hours.
realme 9i 5G price and availability
Launched this Friday, September 30, 2022, the realme 9i 5G will be marketed very soon exclusively at Orange, in the “Rocking Black” color. The only configuration available at the moment is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space, although the smartphone also exists in a 6 GB/128 GB version. And it will be sold at the recommended retail price of 219.99 euros.
