After launching its Realme Pad Mini in France a few days ago, Realme continues to play its cards to attack the tablet market. The Chinese firm announced this Friday the arrival of its next tablet: the Realme Pad X.

A launch scheduled for the end of May

Realme is currently working on a brand new tablet model which, according to the brand’s official website, will be revealed on May 26 in China at 2 p.m. (8:00 a.m. PST). The brand offers in passing a visual where you can see the tablet sporting a fluorescent green color, accompanied by a strip on the back representing an undulating checkerboard pattern which starts from the photo module and goes down to the bottom of the device.

Other images shared by leaker Digital Chat Station on Chinese site Weibo may have revealed additional yet unconfirmed information about what are reportedly two other colorways of the tablet, with a blue and a gray version.

A new more high-end centered tablet for Realme

The Realme Pad X is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 870 SoC, making it the brand’s first tablet that can offer a 5G version. On the proposed visual, we can see that this tablet will have a camera incorporated in a module that is strongly reminiscent of that of the iPad Pro. We see twice the mention “AI” and there does not seem to be a flash at first sight (or perhaps it would hide in the circle which surrounds the mention AI below the photo lens?).

This tablet should offer relatively thin borders, if we are to believe the renderings. We don’t see a front camera in these images, but according to GSMArena this one would be located on the right side of the device, possibly in a punch. According to them, the tablet would be entitled to a screen in QHD + definition with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a very large battery.

We can reasonably assume that this tablet will also run with the brand’s Realme UI “for Pad” interface, which was based on Android 11 so far. This would therefore be the brand’s most premium offer in this product category to date. We do not yet know if this model will be scheduled for release in France like its little brother. But one thing is certain, this would at least somewhat renew the offer in the sector of high-end tablets which do not offer so many alternatives between Apple’s iPad Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8.
