The result is a bit surprising, since the conversion of grassland into building land has been causing a stir in the community of 2,400 inhabitants for weeks. The property belongs to an official of the municipality who works closely with the local chief.
“The applications were repeatedly judged negatively. But the community intervened until the rezoning of grassland into building land in the Bogenhofen settlement was approved ”, annoyed a local resident of St. Peter am Hart. For him, the planned construction of twelve apartments has a very crooked look. The property, located around two kilometers from the town center, belongs to a high-ranking official in the municipality. He is accused of having played the wrong game in the reallocation process. The re-elected Mayor Robert Wimmer firmly rejects the allegations: “Everything went absolutely correctly. Everyone, including the civil servant, is allowed to sell his property. “
Housing project a hindrance to local supplier plans
Wimmer points out that the property was dedicated as building land many years ago. But since there was no construction and the owners wanted to save the fees, it was dropped from the list of dedicated areas. “It was submitted for renewed approval some time ago. What I didn’t know is that the site was being offered to a housing developer, ”says Wimmer. For him it has a sour taste that the apartments are now being built not in the center of the village, but on the outskirts of the community. “We do not have a local supplier and are trying to find more apartments in the center of the town would be helpful,” said Wimmer.
