Rebel Moon (Netflix): an explosive new trailer for Zack Snyder’s space opera

Only one (big) month to wait for Zack Snyder fans. The American director will soon be back on Netflix with a new film: Rebel Moon. Divided into two parts, the space opera has unveiled a new, messy trailer… and one that makes you want to watch it.

What would it look like Star Wars seen by the director of Watchmen And Man of Steel ? You will have the answer on November 22 with Rebel Moon. The streaming platform paid $166 million to bring to life a story that Zack Snyder has imagined for more than ten years.

A new fantastic universe that interweaves references — from George Lucas to DunePassing by John Carter of Mars — and which reveals itself a little more with a generous new trailer, two months after an already XXL teaser.

Here is the full synopsis of the film: On a moon in the depths of the universe, a peaceful colony finds itself under threat from the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. From then on, Kora, a mysterious stranger, becomes the best hope for survival of the villagers whose lives she shares. Responsible for recruiting seasoned fighters to repel the Mother World, she brings together a small troop of soldiers who share the same need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire kingdom falls across the most vulnerable of moons, a new army of heroes rises.

Rebel Moon is directed by Zack Snyder, and co-written by Snyder, Shay Hatten (John Wick 4) and Kurt Johnstad (300). The film can count on a cast of likeable actors from all walks of life: Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Donna Bae, Ed Skrein, Jenna Malone and even the great Anthony Hopkins.

The film will be in two parts. The first, entitled Child of Fire, will therefore be released on December 22, 2023, and recently revealed its surprisingly reasonable duration: 2 hours and 13 minutes. Part 2, subtitled The Slasherwill be broadcast on the streaming platform on April 19, 2024.

An ambitious production thanks to which Netflix hopes to create an event… and inspire a new franchise, since a third opus is already in development.
