A male co-star allegedly sexually harassed Rebel Wilson, the actress says in a new interview.

Actress Rebel Wilson (42) is said to have been sexually harassed by a male co-star several years ago. That the Australian now tells in an interview with the US magazine “People”. Her colleague, who was not named, called her into a room during the shooting of a film project “and pulled down his pants,” explains Wilson. In front of his friends, he then asked her to do something inappropriate.

They wanted to destroy Rebel Wilson’s career

“It was awful and disgusting,” Wilson recalls. The incident therefore happened before the emergence of the #MeToo movement in 2017, which made countless such attacks known. After that, “they tried in a way to destroy me and my career.” If it had happened after #MeToo, the actress could have taken a harder line, she says.

Wilson, who also trained as a lawyer, documented everything. She called her representative and had “certain things” recorded. In industry circles, Wilson made sure “that people knew what happened”. After complaining to her agency and the studio, the 42-year-old also found out that she was about the fourth person to complain about the actor.

She asks herself why she stayed “in this situation” and didn’t just break off the project “with this terrible guy”. “I should have left. It wasn’t worth it.” At the time, she figured she should do “the right thing” and told herself to stay “professional” and keep shooting the film. Today she would “never do that”.
