Australian actress Rebel Wilson is set to host the BAFTA Awards, Britain’s most important film awards, in March.

Rebel Wilson (41) moderates the BAFTA Awards 2022. That was given by those responsible for the most important British film award known on Twitter: “We can’t wait for Rebel to showcase her signature humor and unique charisma at the ceremony on Sunday, March 13.”

The Australian comedian and actress apparently qualified through her performances at previous awards. “Rebel has stolen the show at a number of previous film awards and we’re really looking forward to her bringing her fantastic charisma and humor to the whole show […]” said BAFTA director Amanda Berry in a statement.

“Not Funny Because I’m Not Fat Anymore”

In her reaction to the job, Rebel Wilson gave a taste of her humor. Referring to her significant weight loss, she explained, “It’s going to be so much fun! I don’t want to pressure myself – I know I’m not going to be funny because I’m not fat anymore.”

in the Interview with “BBC News” the slender actress revealed in December that her team was against the weight loss. After all, she built up a lucrative image as the “funny, fat girl”.

The BAFTA Awards are scheduled to take place on March 13, 2022 at the Royal Albert Hall. The nominations will be announced in early February.
