Rebel Wilson: What Her Psyche Had To Do With Her Weight

Rebel Wilson lost 18 kilograms this year. Now she talks about how she managed to do this with a "holistic approach".

Rebel Wilson (40, "Pitch Perfect") decided at the beginning of the year to make 2020 her "Year of Health" – and not let the pandemic dissuade her. In the past ten months she has lost over 18 pounds and learned a lot about herself, as she recounts on the Drew Barrymore Show.

After trying many diets before, this time she wanted to find a holistic approach to her problem – one that also included her mental health. "What hurt me most was eating emotionally and dealing with the stress of becoming internationally famous," said Wilson. Her way of dealing with the pressure was to eat donuts. Now, for the first time, she would have asked herself questions like: "Why didn't I appreciate myself and have a better self-esteem?"

She is now only three kilos away from her desired weight: "I love my curves and everything. I will never be absolutely thin, but I feel so much healthier." According to the US magazine "People", Wilson followed the Mayr Method nutrition plan. Stale bread rolls and milk, Epsom salt and teas are on the "menu", and there is also a stomach massage and light physical exercise.
