Recall: bacteria found in facial tissues

They are supposed to clean the face, but in the worst case they now contaminate it with dangerous bacteria: A recall for cleaning wipes has been issued. The towels have been on the market for a few months now – as a precautionary measure, you should check your cosmetic cabinet to see if you still have the pack in the house. Specifically, it is the following product:

  • Perfect Lift pampering wipes
  • Brand: CV Cadea Vera
  • Manufacturer: Dr. Schumacher
  • Sold between 09/18/2019 and 01/22/2020
  • EAN: 2200223815216
  • Batch number: 214915

Recall: cleaning wipes contain bacteria

The manufacturer has started the recall due to contamination with bacteria. So-called Enterobacter / Pluralibactor gergoviae could be detected. The germs should be repelled in healthy people, but immunocompromised people can become infected. The bacterium can also enter the body through small skin injuries or the mucous membrane and cause inflammation, for example. For this reason, eye contact in particular must be avoided. The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment examined the germ a few years ago and above all pointed out the high resistance to antibiotics.

The manufacturer points out that the cleaning cloths should no longer be used. Contamination can possibly be determined by a bloated package, a sour smell or dark spots on the wipes, as the portal "Produktwarnung.eu" warns. Either way, cleaning cloths purchased in the relevant period can be returned to any sales outlet without a receipt. The purchase price will then be refunded. The cleaning cloths were sold in branches of the drugstore "Müller".
