There's a recall for cheese. The reason is plastic splinters that were found in the product. It warns of internal injuries.

Cheese lovers watch out, you have to be very careful now: a recall for cheese has been issued in several federal states. It is the popular cheese that many people almost always have in the fridge – after all, everything from pizza to lasagna can be gratinated with it. Now you should keep your distance, because the affected cheese can contain foreign bodies. Several media even warn of internal injuries, so the product should no longer be used up, but should be disposed of urgently. The grated cheese comes from the "Norma" discount store chain.

Recall of cheese

The recall was published by Normal. Specifically, it is the following Emmentaler that was sold grated in Norma branches:

  • Grated Bavarian Emmentaler
  • "made with milk from southern Germany"
  • Brand: Leckerrom
  • Manufacturer: Bayernland eG
  • In a 250 gram bag
  • 45 percent fat in dry matter
  • Best before date: 04/02/2021

The cheese was sold in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia at the discounter "Norma".

It may contain foreign plastic objects – please do not consume

The press release emphasizes once again that customers are expressly asked not to consume the cheese anymore. It cannot be ruled out that there are green plastic foreign bodies in the package. Even if these are not visible to the naked eye, it is better not to use the pack any more. Instead, customers can return the grated cheese to any Norma branch without presenting the receipt. The purchase price should be refunded there.
