Recall: pasta is dangerous for some people

There's a recall for pasta. These are said to be hazardous to health for some people. The reason is incorrectly labeled ingredients.

Pasta is part of the basic equipment of every household – at least when it comes to our storage preferences. After all, a good portion of pasta cures not only hunger pangs but also heartaches, doesn't it?

Now, however, there is less pleasant news: you should check your pantry because there has been a big recall for pasta. This does not affect every population group, but only allergy sufferers. But they should be especially careful now.

A product that has been clearly declared as "gluten-free" is being recalled, which should therefore primarily be bought by allergy sufferers – but which contains gluten.

Gluten-free pasta contains gluten

Specifically, it is the following noodles:

  • Buckwheat noodles with sweet potato
  • Brand: TerraSana
  • bio-organic and gluten-free
  • In the 250 gram pack
  • Article number: 270.3150
  • Best before date: 06/30/2022

The pasta was sold as gluten-free, but exceeded the limit values for gluten> 20ppm. Accordingly, they can cause symptoms in people with celiac disease or a general gluten intolerance. Gluten is a sticky protein that is contained in several types of grain, but in some people it can lead to an overreaction of the immune system and thus inflammation of the intestinal mucosa.

In celiac disease, even small traces of gluten can lead to symptoms of varying severity. In addition to digestive problems, it can also lead to tiredness, exhaustion, anemia and bone pain.

The pasta should therefore not be consumed by people with gluten intolerance. If you have no problems with gluten, you can eat the pasta without hesitation, according to TerraSana. Other batches are not affected either.

Otherwise, the pasta can be returned to the office – customers should be reimbursed the purchase price there even without a receipt.
