Aldi Süd has published a recall. Salmonella was found in one product, which can lead to severe diarrhea.

The discounter Aldi Süd is currently pointing out the recall of one of its suppliers on its website. It is about the Könecke Fleischwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, in whose product the press release Salmonella were found. The following sausages from the fresh food counter are specifically affected:

Recall of sausage at Aldi

  • "Fuet Extra – Original Spanish raw sausage"
  • Original Spanish raw sausage with noble mold, air-dried
  • In the 150 gram pack
  • Sold in the fresh food counter at Aldi Süd
  • Supplier: Könecke Fleischwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG
  • All best-before dates by 04/04/2021

According to the "produktwarnung.eu" portal, the raw sausage is said to have been on sale primarily in Aldi Süd branches in parts of Bavaria (Upper Bavaria and Swabia) and North Rhine-Westphalia (Düsseldorf and Cologne). In the meantime, the affected products should have already been taken off the market. But if you already have the sausage in the house, you should urgently check the best-before date, as several batches have been recalled.

Salmonella can cause diarrhea

The sausage should no longer be eaten as it could contain salmonella. In a sample, the rod-shaped bacteria are said to have been detected, as the supplier Aldi Süd announced. Salmonella can cause diarrhea with abdominal pain and fever within 46 hours of consumption. Serious illnesses can occur in immunocompromised people, the elderly and children, so a doctor should be consulted to be on the safe side if an infection is suspected.

Customers can return the sausage in the relevant branch, where they should of course be reimbursed the chewing price even without presenting the receipt.
