Recipes: here are the best-selling cookbooks in 2021

The passion of the French for cooking is also reflected in the success of recipe book sales.

On a specific theme or around a big name in the restaurant industry, specialized works sell like hot cakes. Last year the sector jumped 32% according to GSK. It alone represents 11% of the global publishing market. Far from the old manuals of the 1980s, today’s recipe books have gained in clarity and above all in the quality of their illustrations. Here are the three titles that sold the most last year.

Homemade, Vol. 4, Cyril Lignac (La Martiniere)

The favorite chef of the French Cyril Lignac is a real hit with his Homemade books. He reveals his favorite recipes, simple to make with accessible ingredients. In this opus, he details in particular the salmon gravlax, the Shepherd’s pie and the chocolate fondant.

Homemade, Vol. 4, Cyril Lignac (La Martiniere), €12.90

We are going to taste Italy, François-Régis Gaudry (Marabout)

The famous host of the show We will taste on France Inter no longer counts his groupies. This time he is interested in Italian gastronomy and tries to explore it with his sidekick Alessandra Pierini from the Rap grocery store in Paris. A complete and well edited book but not necessarily practical to use.

Homemade, Vol. 3, Cyril Lignac (La Martiniere)

It is still Cyril Lignac that we find in the top 3 of the best-selling cookbooks in 2021. The third volume has also been a great success. The practical side and the low price are undoubtedly at the origin. The presence of the recipe for endives with maroilles ham undoubtedly contributed to this.
