The sought-after Twitch streamer Byron Bernstein, best known under his gaming name Reckful, died at the age of only 31. The sad news was meanwhile confirmed by Twitter from the streaming platform. Bernstein had always talked openly about psychological problems in the past. The fact that he did not avoid the subject of depression "gave others the opportunity to do the same," the tweet said.
Nevertheless, the loss clearly shows that "mental health and its treatment" are still stigmatized in our society and that people like Bernstein "are prevented from seeking and receiving the help they need". He had his ex-girlfriend just a few hours before his death on Twitter made a marriage proposal.
As Reckful, Bernstein made a name for himself as a "World of Warcraft" and "Asheron's Call" player. He also started a gaming podcast about two years ago, in which he talked to changing guests from industry.
