Reconquest! is divided on the strategy to adopt against the RN

Marion Maréchal did not come across any judoka in the David-Douillet gymnasium in Charvieu-Chavagneux, Wednesday April 3. The top of the Reconquest list! to the Europeans, however, has already adopted one of the principles of martial sport: adapt rather than oppose the strength of the adversary; in this case Jordan Bardella, who is at the top of the voting intentions in the June 9 election.

Passing through Isère, the thirty-year-old defended – and repeated – her refusal to directly attack the representative of the National Rally (RN). “I think we shouldn’t get the wrong opponent or fight”she insisted just before going on stage: “In these European elections, my priority opponents are first and foremost the false right, which I consider today embodied by Les Républicains [LR] (…), and the true left, embodied both by the socialism of Mr. Glucksmann and LFI [La France insoumise]. »

The granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen explains that she refuses to alienate a possible ally, while some see this as procrastination which they attribute to her family and past ties with the RN. “If we find the necessary path to the European Parliament to weigh [sur des votes communs], I hope that tomorrow we will find the way to work together in France”supports the former member of Vaucluse, supported by the “electoral strategic necessity of the right-wing coalition”. Marion Maréchal could not more clearly maintain the dividing line that is tearing her current party apart on the position to take against the RN.

Flight of voters

Reconquest! did not wait until this spring to get bogged down in the divisions. Two clans had already formed since the launch of the campaign in September: on the one hand, the faithful from the early days of Eric Zemmour, gathered around his main advisor and partner Sarah Knafo; on the other, those close to the first on the list, some of whose friendship dates back to their time with the National Front (FN, now RN). But the revelation, at the end of March, in Point, a stormy lunch between the two headliners of the far-right party exacerbated the strategic differences that structure their respective speeches; particularly the dissonances in the attacks reserved – or avoided – for Jordan Bardella.

Marine Le Pen’s dolphin attracts Reconquête’s attention! since the polls show a possible flight in his favor of former voters of Eric Zemmour in the 2022 presidential election. 41% of them are preparing to vote for the RN next June, according to the third wave of the electoral survey carried out by Ipsos (from 1er to March 6), in partnership with the Sciences Po Political Research Center (Cevipof), the Montaigne Institute, the Jean-Jaurès Foundation and The world. Far from agreeing on the same discourse likely to discourage running away, the management of Reconquête! delivers two antagonistic visions of the RN.
