Ryanair flying high after passenger record

Ryanair is apparently coming out of the corona pandemic well. In the last financial year, a record number of passengers was brought to their destination. However, the win just missed the previous top result. We see ourselves well positioned for the future.
Europe’s largest low-cost airline Ryanair carried more passengers than ever before in its 2022/23 financial year and missed a new record profit by a hair’s breadth. In the financial year that ended at the end of March, the airline earned 1.43 billion euros, as announced by Ryanair.
The figure compares to a record profit of 1.45 billion euros for 2017/2018, as well as lower market expectations for the current balance sheet and a loss in the previous financial year, which was still dominated by the pandemic. With 168.6 million passengers, the low-cost airline eclipsed its own record from before Corona. In the current financial year 2023/24 it should be 185 million, as confirmed by Ryanair.
Ryanair was cautiously optimistic that it would be able to moderately increase profits over the next twelve months. The demand for the summer months is robust. In the high season, the trend in ticket prices is still above that of the previous year.
Ryanair would still benefit from persistent capacity bottlenecks in the industry due to a lack of aircraft deliveries. After all, the company has long since secured its own orders and expects more than 100 new Boeing machines in the next three years, emphasized CEO Michael O’Leary. However, it should also be taken into account that there are delays in delivery for some of the machines.
