Two swimmers died in the southern Carinthia holiday region. A holiday guest from Lower Austria (75) drowned in Lake Turner on Saturday morning, and an 81-year-old from Wolfsberg in the afternoon in Lake Klopeiner.

A 44-year-old woman discovered a motionless body floating in the reed belt from a jetty on Lake Turner at around 12:30 p.m. She immediately jumped into the water and brought the man to shore. With the help of two other witnesses, she lifted the 75-year-old onto the jetty and they carried out resuscitation measures until an ambulance arrived. Unfortunately, the doctor could only determine the death of the man. The police investigation revealed that the man, a 75-year-old holiday guest from Lower Austria, had gone swimming alone in the Turnersee in the midday hours and drowned drifting man and sounded the alarm. A doctor who happened to be present at a lido immediately drove a boat to the man, pulled him onto a SUP board and carried out resuscitation measures until the emergency doctor arrived.
