Eggshells are often viewed as a pure waste product that quickly ends up in organic waste. The bowls can also fulfill useful functions in everyday life. Those are six ways to effectively recycle the eggshells.
Use in the garden
Eggshells contain nutrient-rich minerals that plants also benefit from. This includes, for example, the calcium it contains. Carefully crumbled eggshells can enhance the compost and be added to the potting soil when new plants are planted. Alternatively, you can sprinkle the shredded bowls on the bed.
Small flower pot
The eggshells can be recycled not only as fertilizer, but also as a compact flower pot. Simply embed small seedlings in the mostly intact eggshell with some soil. A hole in the bottom of the bowl allows the water to drain off. This variant is ideal for recycling, after all, you can also use the egg box as a pot holder.
DIY candle
If you put liquid wax including wick in a washed-out eggshell, you can decorate your household with an unusual candle.
Face mask
The crushed shell of the egg is also known as a home remedy for the skin. Eggshells, carefully chopped up with a mortar in combination with egg white, are used as a face mask to help tighten the skin.
nail polish
The eggshell can also be used as a nail polish additive. If you add well-dosed eggshell powder to the nail polish, the mixture should help strengthen the fingernails.
chalk
Eggshells can also help relieve boredom in the household. Combined with flour, food coloring and hot water, chalk sticks can be made with the appropriate shape. For this, the paste made by the right mixture must be dried for several days.
