Red alert in the Corona-Warn-App: What you have to watch out for now

What do those affected have to consider now?

It is still a question of the minister’s plans, but the new regulation could be decided after the federal and state summit and then apply nationwide.

If the Corona warning app shows an “increased risk”, the person concerned should then carry out a free citizen test (rapid antigen test). Only if this result is positive should a free PCR test be used to confirm the result. For those affected, this is a significantly higher effort.

It is unclear how those affected have to act if the citizen test is negative. So far, the following applies: If the PCR test is negative and the person does not suffer from any typical corona symptoms, only the classic distance and hygiene rules apply.

If the result is positive, the person must be quarantined for a maximum of ten days according to the requirements of the responsible health authority. However, the isolation can be left after seven days at the earliest by means of a negative PCR or citizen test, provided that no typical corona symptoms occur 48 hours beforehand.
