Red eyeshadow is THE make-up trend for fall

Red eyeshadow looks like crying eyes? Not if you do it right. We'll tell you how you can make your eyes shine with eyeshadow colors in burgundy, peach or even pink.

Red only goes on lips or nails? Nope! Chanel is currently proving how good the color of love can look on the eyelids. Admittedly: red eyeshadow is a bit idiosyncratic and so far we thought that the make-up look was more reserved for tanned beauties. But beauty creative director Lucia Pica convinced us otherwise. For the current fall / winter collection, she puts make-up on the eyes of her Snow White look-alike models in rich red tones. As if that wasn't enough, she also emphasizes the lips AND cheeks in the same shades – creating a wonderful winter look. We like!

This is how the look works

What looks like great make-up art is actually very easy to apply. Lucia dispenses with complicated techniques and prefers a simple monochrome look. She only takes one color, applies it accurately to the movable lid and blends the edges outwards. Tip: For a sexy look and an extra-clean finish, you can pre-define the contour with adhesive tape. It is also better to use powdery textures than highly pigmented colors. This makes it easier for you to apply.

For the perfect cat-eye, Lucia also accentuates her model's eyes with a dark red eyeliner. Now a touch of mascara (attention! Less is more) and that's it: the eye make-up is done. Lucia is less frugal when it comes to blush: she places it generously on the cheekbones and pulls it up to the hairline. Finally, Lucia emphasizes the mouth with the help of a berry lipstick. The make-up artist dispenses with hard edges and relies on a ask-lips look.

Who is it?

Red eyeshadow is not without its pitfalls: In order to end up looking like a fairytale princess and not like a night of partying, you should choose the right color. In general, the following applies: the lighter your own complexion, the more bluish and cooler the chosen shade of red should be.

Favorite of the influencers

Once you've found the right color for yourself, there's no stopping you. The stars and starlets have already fallen for the eyeshadow trend and are experimenting extensively. And we too like to be inspired by the cool looks of the influencers. How about, for example, a true statement style à la Maxim Giacomo?

Or can it be a little more natural? We're completely in love with actress Lucy Hale's romantic eye make-up. Perfect for all those who first want to carefully approach the trend.

Instead of red, beauty blogger Dagi Bee uses pink eyeshadow, which she blends with brown tones on the outer edges, creating a fresh and summery look. We particularly like the style in combination with nude lip gloss and Dagi's sun-kissed complexion.

Now you are asked: do you give red eyeshadow a chance? Or do you prefer to stick with the classic colors?
