"Rote Rosen" star Sarah Maria Besgen, 40, became a mother for the first time last year – but instead of untroubled joy, the birth of her son Bobby was an incredibly difficult year, as she now says in an interview with "Bunte" tells. The reason: The little man was born by Caesarean section after just six months and weighed just 998 grams.
"My baby was a patient who was kept alive and monitored by machines around the clock," she told "Bunte". She confesses: "When I saw Bobby for the first time in the incubator two days after the operation, I literally collapsed. This handful of people should be my baby?" Sarah recalls.
It is a miracle that her child is still alive, says the Berlin native, who brings up Bobby alone. But in the end, the hard time paid off: "He is a small fighter and luckily completely healthy today."
