Redfall: Microsoft exclusive will be throttled to 30 fps on Xbox Series X and S at launch

At the very beginning of next month will be released Redfall, an exclusive Microsoft edited by Bethesda and developed by Arkane Austinthe American branch of the studio behind Dishonored, Prey or death loop. This title will be very different, it will take us to a city invaded by vampires.

The title will be oriented towards cooperation and an Internet connection will be mandatory to play it, even solo, but Arkane has already said that it was working on a future update to allow fun even without being connected to the Internet. However, here is another piece of news that is likely to make people cringe. Developers announce that Redfall will only be playable in mode Quality at 30 fps at launch on Xbox Series X|S. Only the resolution will change, with 1440p on Series S and 4K on Series X.

Information that is enough to make fans of first-person shooters swear by 60 fps, especially since most titles offer a mode Performance to favor the frame rateat the expense of graphics. Redfall will have its own mode Performance with 60 fps, but via an update that will be done after the releaseat an unknown date.

It remains to be hoped that this patch will not be desired for too long. As a reminder, red fall is also expected on PC, without limit of frame rate, the release date of the game is set for May 2, 2023you can pre-order it at €62.99 on Gamesplanet.
