Probably one of the most beautiful trailers unveiled during the PC Gaming Show 2023, Ebenezer and the Invisible World is a slap as we like to take. Skillfully using the world of Charles Dickens’ fairy tale a cchristmas haunt (A Christmas Carol in its original version), the game is a surprising hand-drawn 2D Metroidvania.
If at first glance one might think that the universe of Charles Dickens’ tale is not easily adaptable to video games, Ebenezer and the Invisible World shows us that the creativity of certain studios has no limit. The idea of the title is to make you live the adventure through a colorful character who uses an army of ghosts to fight. Thus, each ghost will allow you to perform different actions and combos, both to fight and to move.
The result is a universe that seems extremely rich visually speaking, coupled with a gameplay that seems very dynamic. Ebenezer and the Invisible World does not yet have a release date but will be available on PC (Steam), PS5 and PS4 but also on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series. In the meantime, you can already try the demo available on Steam for free (in English only).
