  • The Xiaomi Redmi 10 has not yet had a cheap A offshoot.
  • That could change shortly. The specifications for the Redmi 10A have now been spotted on Geekbench.
  • It’s not the phone’s only sign of life.

With the Redmi 10, Xiaomi launched a strong budget cell phone in autumn 2021. The Chinese manufacturer always provided a kind of Lite version with the suffix “A” alongside its predecessors. So far, there has been no trace of this on the Redmi 10 – until now.

The specifications for a device called Xiaomi 220233L2C have now appeared on the benchmark website Geekbench. This is probably the Chinese version of the Redmi 10A, reports Gizchina.

According to data from Geekbench, the smartphone will be equipped with a MediaTek MT6762G processor, which is the manufacturer’s cheapest chip. In the Geekbench test, the hardware was only able to achieve 791 points with one core and 3,630 points with all cores. The main memory should be 4 gigabytes in size, and Android 11 is used as the operating system.

FCC filings provide more details

Additional specifications can be found at the US Regulatory Authority (FCC). Four different versions of the cell phone were listed there, which offer different amounts of storage space and RAM. According to FCC documents, the versions will be:

  • 2 gigabytes of RAM with 32 gigabytes of storage space
  • 3 gigabytes of RAM with 32 gigabytes of storage space
  • 3 gigabytes of RAM with 64 gigabytes of storage space
  • 4 gigabytes of RAM with 128 gigabytes of storage space

In addition, the cell phones will be equipped with MIUI 12.5 and offer a camera with 13 megapixels. A fingerprint sensor and LTE technology are also on board. An exact date for the release has not yet been set, although it will probably not be long in coming.

In terms of price, the smartphones will probably settle in the lowest segment, which means prices of around 100 euros to 150 euros. The weaker versions could even be cheaper than 100 euros.
