Last week, Xiaomi launched its new mid-range smartphones in France, the Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro and Note 11S. But it seems that the Chinese firm does not intend to stop there with its Redmi range. This Wednesday, the French leaker OnLeaks published, in partnership with the Bestopedia site, the design and characteristics of a future Xiaomi Redmi K50, which we could discover in Europe under the Poco range.

In terms of design, the future Redmi K50 seems to be inspired by the Redmi Note 11 with a photo module separated into two parts. Only, if the Redmi Note 11 takes advantage of the lower part of the photo module to integrate three cameras, and one on the top, Xiaomi seems to have chosen a different path for its Redmi K50 with a plate accommodating three cameras and the bottom plate integrating only the flash.

In terms of technical characteristics, the Redmi K50 should be equipped with a 6.6-inch curved borderless screen, but with a punch at the top, in its center, to integrate the selfie camera. Bestopedia and OnLeaks also note the presence of a USB-C socket, a loudspeaker and a microphone on the lower edge, but no headphone socket. The volume bat seems to be positioned on the right, with the standby key also acting as a fingerprint reader.

A smartphone that should succeed the Poco F3

On the features side, OnLeaks says the smartphone could be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, the most powerful processor available for Android smartphones. It would also come with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. For the photo, we therefore expect a triple photo module with a 64-megapixel main sensor, while autonomy would be provided by a 500 mAh battery compatible with 120 W fast charging.

As a reminder, the predecessor of the Redmi K50, the Redmi K40, was launched in China just a year ago. The smartphone was then launched in Europe in March 2021 as the Xiaomi Poco F3. Logically, the Redmi K50 could use the same model and be offered in France within a few months under Xiaomi’s Poco range.
