Cult blonde confirms prequel series to “Legally Blonde”

US actress Reese Witherspoon and Amazon Prime Video confirm the series adaptation of the cult “Legally Blonde” film series.
Breakthrough with “Legally Blonde” in 2001
With “Legally Blonde” in 2001, Witherspoon finally achieved promotion to the top league of Hollywood stars. In the film, the iconic blonde played fashion-conscious student Elle Woods, who decides to study law at Harvard to win back her boyfriend. She ultimately has to solve a mysterious murder with him and his new girlfriend, where her special knowledge of fashion contributes significantly to solving the case. In “Legally Blonde 2” Witherspoon once again took on the role of Elle, who was always dressed in bright pink. In “Legally Blonde 3 – Now it’s twice as long” (2009), which revolved around Elle Woods’ cousins, she did not appear again Actress, but only as a producer.
Yesterday, May 14, the actress slipped into her iconic pink film outfit once again to announce the streaming service’s official order of the prequel series at an Amazon Prime Video “Upfronts” event. In one Video published by “Variety” on X At the event, she presented the happy news by saying, “I’m here to tell you the greatest news: We’re going back to high school with Elle!”.
On her Instagram account She supplemented the announcement with a video that shows her putting on her pink outfit before the “Upfronts” show, and a script for the planned series labeled “Top Secret Script” also briefly appears in the picture. Witherspoon’s comment: “Before she became the most famous Gemini-starred vegetarian graduating from Harvard Law School, she was just a normal ’90s high school girl. And you’ll all get to know her, next year on Prime Video. I’m so excited!”
All that is known so far is that the film star is involved in the project as a producer. It has not yet been revealed whether she will also be an actress in it. In the comments to her Instagram post, her fans are already calling for her model daughter Ava Elizabeth Phillippe (24) to be cast in the role of Elle Woods.
