Two open investigations
According to the lawyer, the three police officers surrounded the car:one was on the left side, another was in front and another policeman was on the right of the vehicle“. The driver, who was trying to escape a control, would have tried to turn his vehicle against the police.
Ibrahima, one of the vehicle’s passengers, was questioned about his version of the facts by RTL: “We were at a red light and a policeman came and tapped on the driver’s window to ask him to step aside for a check.“. During the day, the police officers were placed in police custody and the Paris prosecutor’s office opened two investigations, one targeting them and the second concerning the driver.

The 38-year-old man is known to police. He has 80 entries in the criminal record processing file. According to BFMTV, he was only free for the weekend, last Saturday. Serving a prison sentence since April 14, he would have benefited from a leave of absence.
